Assessment and Evaluation

This aspect of my work primarily involves the evaluation of individuals across the lifespan, with specialization in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. This includes the assessment of difficulties with learning/academic skill development, attention, behavioral functioning, emotional regulation, executive functioning, memory and learning, and social development. Evaluation is also available to assess difficulties related to congenital conditions, genetic disorders, and traumatic brain injury.  Additionally, I provide evaluations addressing concerns regarding the possible presence of Autism Spectrum Disorders. The exact type of evaluation needed will be determined after a brief discussion by phone about your concerns. Evaluations provided include psychological, psychoeducational, and neuropsychological evaluations.

Psychotherapy

The goal of therapy is to help individuals learn to increase self-awareness and develop the tools to effectively meet their problems head-on so that they can be addressed in a healthy manner. There are many forms of therapy. I utilize a combination of treatment modalities in addressing presenting problems and concerns. It is not uncommon for therapists to combine ideas from different approaches when addressing a person’s needs. I work primarily with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, separation difficulties, and behavioral concerns.

One of the most important factors in benefitting from therapy is finding a therapist you are comfortable with so that you can be open and honest during your treatment. This will be something important for you to keep in mind during our initial consultation.

Consultation and Record Review

If you are not sure if an evaluation is necessary or have questions about current difficulties or previous diagnoses, a consultation may be helpful. Consultations involve a brief review of records and detailed discussion with parents/guardians regarding areas of concern. Consultation may be followed by specific recommendations for intervention or by a recommendation for an evaluation. I also consult with medical providers, school personnel, and other members of the treatment team to help ensure that everyone is on the same page and that needs are being fully met.

Practical Skills Training

The goals of Practical Skills Training are to increase self-knowledge and the frequency of positive experiences in the academic and home settings for clients and their families through education and skill-building support. I aim to educate, increase knowledge of self, and improve life skills/practical functioning in one-on-one and small group formats This work is available for clients of all ages who can benefit from these strategies and areas of support. An essential part of skill-building also involves helping families get on the same page with regard to skills, needs, expectations, and necessary supports.

Parent and Community Support and Workshops

I provide parent and school-based support through one-on-one consultation and small group workshops. These can be focused on a variety of topics including walking through the assessment process, managing difficult behaviors, increasing executive functioning at home/at school, understanding diagnoses, managing expectations, time management, and knowing which battles to fight to name a few.

Remote/Virtual Services

All of the services above are available via telehealth administration. I was initially licensed to practice in New York in 2008 and subsequently licensed in Georgia in 2010. In 2020 I was granted the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) through the PSYPACT commission. This allows me to provide telehealth services in all APIT PSYPACT participating states, which currently include Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington DC. New states are joining the PSYPACT commission regularly. I have also been approved to offer Telehealth/Telepsychology services to residents of Florida under the authority of the Florida Board of Psychology.

Fees and Payment Information

Evaluation Fees

I currently provide evaluations for a flat fee. The cost of the evaluation for children under age 6 years is 3,000 dollars. Evaluations for individuals age 6 or over are billed at a rate of 3,300 dollars. I am Out-Of-Network (OON) for multiple insurance providers. While I have been In-Network in the past, this has proven to place constraints on the services that I could deliver and has sometimes caused unexpected fees for families.

I am happy to provide a Superbill which may help in the process of YOU requesting reimbursement from your insurance provider. I will not submit insurance claims on behalf of clients for testing or therapeutic services. Clients are responsible for obtaining reimbursement through their out-of-network services.

Intervention and Consultation Fees

Therapy, practical skill-building, consultation, and other supports and interventions are available for an hourly fee (165 dollars per clinical hour-50 minute session). Similar to assessment services, I am Out-Of-Network (OON) for many insurance providers. Although I will not submit claims on your behalf, I will happily provide a Superbill that can assist You in submitting a claim to your insurance for reimbursement.

Workshops are also available at an hourly or daily rate, depending on the format and time commitment requested. Please contact me directly to obtain information on my intervention rates.
